More Team Training!

If you were in the 6pm class on Tuesday evening, you might’ve noticed a little extra buzz in the gym. That’s because we’ve added another team to our lineup, a U12 Boys Hockey team who’ll be training with us for the next 10 weeks.

It feels good to be back in the team training groove. Before 2020, we had a lot of teams coming through our doors, and it’s something we’ve really missed. There’s something special about having a group of young athletes learn what CrossFit is, challenge new movements, work together, and start to understand what it means to train with intention.

Team training has always been something we have done at CrossFit Indestri. CrossFit Indestri was founded because Scott Thornton missed the locker room (team) feel from his years in the NHL. It’s an incredible opportunity to introduce more youth in our community to be introduced to CrossFit.

Right now, we’re running:

  • A U13 Girls Hockey team on Wednesday evenings

  • A U15 Boys Hockey team every other Tuesday

  • A U10 Boys Basketball team that Stouty coaches on the court & now in here on Saturdays

  • And now, our newest addition, the U12 Boys Hockey team on the opposite Tuesdays from the U15s

  • And we’re also talking to the U15 Girls Basketball team about the possibility of some sessions on Monday’s into November. We had these girls is last winter, and they were a pleasure to train.

It’s shaping up to be a busy fall and winter for team training, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Our regular youth programs are also thriving:

  • Teens (Tuesdays) – still room to add more athletes

  • Pre-Teens (Wednesdays) – Full for November

  • Kids (Thursdays) – Full for November

It’s exciting to see so many young people from across our community getting exposed to CrossFit. Whether through team training or our youth programs, these sessions are building confidence, coordination, and strength that will carry over far beyond their sport, and that’s exactly why we love doing it.
