Only CrossFit is CrossFit
Our friends over at Cristini Athletics ( also known as CrossFit Woodbridge and CrossFit Markham), shared a post recently that was spot on.
Simply stating the truth about CrossFit, as a methodology, a community, and a standard.
Below is the post:
Only CrossFit is CrossFit
There’s a lot out there that looks like CrossFit.
It smells like CrossFit.
It borrows the movements.
It copies the vibe. But it isn’t CrossFit.
Only CrossFit is CrossFit.
At Cristini Athletics, we believe in CrossFit, not as a trend, but as a training methodology, a community, and a standard.
What can’t be copied isn’t the barbells or the workouts.
What can’t be copied is standards. We know what a good rep is.
We know what a bad rep is.
We coach it.
We hold ourselves accountable to it.
Our members understand it, so much so that they’ll hold each other accountable too. That’s what real CrossFit is.
Because when standards exist, training becomes:
• Measurable
• Repeatable
• TrackableThat’s how progress is real.
That’s how fitness lasts.
That’s how people train here for life.CrossFit can be a sport, and that only works because standards exist. Not everyone has to compete. But everyone benefits from training that respects quality, movement, and intention.
CrossFit is for:
• The everyday person who wants to be healthier
• The elite who want to be the best of the best
• The young and the old
• Anyone willing to show up with the right attitudeThis campaign is us taking a stance on who we are.
Over the next series of posts, we’ll highlight:
• The strength of the CrossFit community
• Why CrossFit builds elite fitness, if you want it to
• Why CrossFit is for all ages and abilities
• Why our coaches chose CrossFit, and why they’re still hereThere may be a million knock offs out there.
But only CrossFit is CrossFit.
And we stand by it.— Cristini Athletics
We’re sharing this because it reflects what we’ve believed, and practiced, for nearly sixteen years.
CrossFit isn’t something we dabble in.
It isn’t a branding choice.
It isn’t a set of movements pulled from a list.
It’s a methodology we coach daily.
A standard we hold ourselves to.
A community we protect.
We see more and more facilities borrowing the language of CrossFit, the look of CrossFit, and the feel of CrossFit, without committing to the responsibility that comes with it.
That responsibility is coaching.
That responsibility is standards.
That responsibility is accountability.
Standards aren’t about ego.
They’re not about control.
They’re not about making things harder for the sake of it.
They’re about safety.
Longevity.
Progress that actually means something.
When standards exist, everyone benefits, whether you’re here for general health, long term fitness, or competition.
Only CrossFit affiliates are held to these standards.
Only inside an affiliate will you find CrossFit certified coaches coaching CrossFit, day in and day out.
You can take the L1 or L2.
You can borrow the movements.
You can adopt the language.
But without the affiliation, it isn’t CrossFit.
We’re proud to stand alongside other CrossFit Affiliates who are willing to say that out loud. Because protecting CrossFit means protecting the quality of training, the integrity of coaching, and the community that makes it all work.
And that’s something we’ll continue to stand by.
