A Review - Wednesday, February 4th, 2026

This kind of engagement is rare. But Nancy is incredibly inspiring.

A Review

When someone is new to the area, thinking about getting into/or back into training, or simply curious about what we do here, social media, as well as Google and Facebook reviews are often one of the very first things they look at. Those reviews help paint a picture of what it actually feels like to walk through our doors, long before someone ever sends an email or books a class.

And that’s where you come in.

Reviews and engagement on social media might not seem like a big deal, but for small local businesses, they matter more than most people realize. Liking, sharing, commenting on a post, and/or leaving a google review is completely free to do, yet it has a real impact on whether a small business is seen, and trusted.

A few of years ago, Chris Cooper made a post. Chris was a longtime affiliate owner from Sault Ste. Marie, he is also the owner of Two-Brain Business, a gym mentorship company, a former member of the CrossFit Canada media team, and someone we’ve known in the CrossFit community for years.

In that post, Chris wrote:

“Imagine spending $175,000 to keep your job. That’s what the two years between 2020 and 2022 cost the average small business owner to keep their doors open.”

He went on to share five simple ways people can support small, local businesses. Two of them really stood out:

  • Sharing their content and telling others why you like the business

  • Leaving a review on platforms like Facebook and Google

That post stuck with us. It was a good reminder that support doesn’t have to cost any money.

As a business, we made a conscious decision years ago not to spend money on advertising. We didn’t even have a sign out at the road until 2017. We’ve always preferred to put our resources back into the facility itself, better equipment, education for our coaching team, and a better experience for the people who train here.

Because of that, we have always relied heavily on word of mouth and on our community sharing their love. And in the last number of years with the help of Emma Nichol Photography’s talent at producing some beautiful content for us.

So we thought this might be a good time to ask: if you haven’t already, would you please take a quick moment to leave us a review on both Facebook and Google?

It doesn’t need to be long or polished. A few honest sentences about why you train here, what you enjoy, or how the gym has helped you goes a long way. Those words help someone else who’s searching for a fitness facility in our area decide where they might feel comfortable showing up and getting started.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support. Your engagement, your shares, and your reviews help us continue doing what we love, in the community we care so deeply about.

Thank you for your engagement and reviews.

(As mentioned above under the photo, that kind of engagement on social media for us is rare. But Nancy is incredibly inspiring, and CrossFit, The CrossFit Games, CrossFit Canada and CrossFit Training all jumped on that post as well, which means that all their followers would have seen it too. )
