Team Training

A week ago Wednesday marked the end of a 12 week team training block with the U13 girls hockey team.

Throughout the 12 weeks, we focused on building strong foundations. Learning proper movement patterns, improving coordination and balance, developing strength, and understanding how off ice training supports performance on the ice.

Team training is also about learning how to work together. Supporting teammates, staying engaged, and bringing energy to the room all matter. Those pieces are just as important as the physical training itself.

Along with the workouts, something we’ve been emphasizing across all of our youth and team training programs is the importance of the things we can control: our attitude, our effort, and our presence in class. These habits don’t just make better athletes. They help shape better teammates, better students, and stronger individuals, both inside and outside the gym.

As with any youth team, there were sessions that required reminders around focus and listening. That’s part of the learning process. When the group was locked in, the progress was clear. Movements improved, confidence grew, and athletes became more comfortable trying new skills and working hard alongside each other.

With this group now wrapped up, we do have the possibility of a new team in for team training sessions on Wednesday evenings. If you have a child on a team and would like to learn more about team training, or are interested in booking that Wednesday evening slot, please email indestri@gmail.com.
