Today, we pause to honour and remember those who have served, and those who continue to serve, our country.

Every year on this day, we gather as a community to reflect, remember, and move with purpose. We take on a Tribute WOD not just as a workout, but as a way to connect, physically, mentally, and emotionally, with the meaning behind the day.

Hero and tribute WODs are more than just tough workouts. They bridge the gap between body and mind, between emotion and experience., and they give us the chance to do more than simply remember our fallen heroes, they allow us to honour them through effort.

When you step into a Hero or tribute WOD, you feel the weight of the moment. Every rep, every breath, every burning muscle becomes a small act of respect. You push through the discomfort because someone else pushed through far worse.

This workout is unique, in that, at the 11 minute mark of the 18 minute AMRAP, we all stop, together. Heart pounding, lungs burning, we pause for one full minute to reflect and remember. It’s a deliberate break, a shared moment of still silence. A chance to breathe, to feel gratitude, and to honour those who gave everything.

Then, at the 12 minute mark, we get back into it. We dig in, push harder, and carry that moment of reflection with us through every remaining rep. Because that’s what this day is about, remembering, and then moving forward with purpose.

Hero and tribute WODs are a chance to sweat, suffer, and grieve, one rep at a time. They remind us that our pain is temporary, but the sacrifice of those we honour was not.

Today, as you take on the workout, remember what it stands for. When the legs burn, when the lungs ache, when you want to stop, dig in.
Remember who you’re doing it for.
