CrossFit and Hyrox
The other day CrossFit put out an article on why CrossFit loves Hyrox. It was a great article, so thought it would make a good share on here.
This is how we’ve felt about Hyrox, and when people try to compare the two, or ask us if we think Hyrox will take over CrossFit.
Hyrox is a fitness race, much like Tough Mudder, CrossFitters are drawn to participate in these events because they’re a way for us to use our fitness, a “test” much like a benchmark workout. Hyrox is not a training methodology or even a proper way to train for general fitness.
One question we get asked more and more is would we become a Hyrox affiliate as well. The answer is no. Why would we? We train constantly varied functional movements. CrossFit invented the Wall Ball Shot, we already train sled pushes and pulls, burpee broad jumps have always been in our training, more in warm ups, but we have thrown them into WODs, farmer carries are part of our training, skiing and rowing are part of our training, and we lunge a lot, and if it’s kms that you want to train in running, we offer track night once a week starting at the end of May through to the end of August.
CrossFit and our programming more than prepares you if you would like to take on a Hyrox race.
