That’s a wrap

And just like that, the final workout of the 2026 CrossFit Open is behind us.

Three weeks.
Three workouts.
Countless moments of effort, nerves, excitement, and breakthroughs on the floor.

This past Saturday we wrapped it all up with 26.3, and what a morning it was. The energy in the facility was incredible from start to finish. Athletes pushing through the final test, judges locked in on every rep, and a community gathered around the floor cheering for each other.

Before anything else, there are some important thank yous.

A big thank you to Season and her team at Culinary Designs for catering breakfast for us. It was such a great addition to the morning and a perfect way to celebrate the final workout of the 2026 CrossFit Open.

Thank you as well to Emma and Hannah for capturing the moments for us each week. The Open always moves fast when you’re in it, and having those memories documented means so much. They allow all of us to look back and relive the effort, the smiles, and the moments that make these three weeks special.

We also want to take a moment to congratulate Emma. It’s not every day you receive a call from CrossFit HQ asking if you would be interested in doing some freelance work capturing content for them during the Open. We honestly could not be prouder of her. Watching her work behind the lens each week, capturing the effort, the emotion, and the moments that make these mornings special, we see firsthand the passion she puts into it. This opportunity was a big one for her, and it’s incredibly well deserved. Emma has a gift for capturing moments in a way that tells the story of what’s happening insider our facility. To see that recognized by CrossFit’s media team is something really special, and we couldn’t be happier or prouder of her.

To all of the athletes who signed up and stepped onto the floor, thank you. The Open asks something of you. It asks you to step outside your comfort zone, to try movements that might intimidate you, to push harder than you might in a normal class setting, and to put your effort out there in front of others. We hope you’re proud of the effort you put in. And more than anything, we hope you can each find highlights from the past three weeks that stand out for you.

On Saturday I had a conversation with one of our members, he told me how much he enjoyed the CrossFit Open workouts this year. That he liked the fact that he felt capable of all the movements that showed up. Maybe not the Ring MU, but there was a bunch of work to be done before you got there. I agreed with him. Some of us remember 15.3 when the workout started with a Ring MU, and the majority of the community was forced to scale that workout because we couldn’t even get 1 single rep. (2015 was also the first year with a scaled division.) Personally, and also from the judging side of things, I really enjoyed that there were no double unders and wall walks in the open this year. But I do imagine they may show up in Quarterfinals.

While we were talking, I shared something that stood out for me personally this year. Of course, like many athletes, there were moments where I wished I had performed better in the workouts. I think that’s something many of us feel. But instead of thinking that way, I need to focus on my biggest win actually had nothing to do with my score.

Like I have already mentioned, for the past 9 or so years, I have had a bit of an irrational fear of 20 inch box jumps. Not the movement itself, but the fear of tripping over the box, catching myself with my arm, and hurting my shoulder again. Because of that, I often choose to lower the height of the box for box jumps.

In 26.1, I decided to jump onto the box and face that fear. Then this past week when box jumps were in the programming, I jumped on that 20 inch box again, when normally I would have lowered the height. So that was my win this year, and it reminded me of something important. The leaderboard doesn’t always tell the full story of what the Open gives us. The real wins often happen quietly. They show up in the moments where we do something we didn’t think we could do, or face something we’ve been avoiding. I truly hope every one of you can find a win like that from this year’s Open.

Another huge thank you goes out to our judges.

Judging your peers is not always easy. It takes focus, integrity, and a willingness to step into a role that can feel uncomfortable at times. But it’s also the reason events like this are possible. We truly could not run mornings like these without the athletes who volunteer their time to judge week after week. So to everyone who stepped up to judge, thank you. Your help makes the entire experience possible.

And thank you as well to everyone who came out to cheer on their fellow athletes. The vibe in the facility each Saturday morning was next level. That energy matters more than you might realize to the athletes on the floor.

As we mentioned in our reel yesterday, many of you took the time to thank us privately on Saturday. Steph and I really appreciate that. One of the message really stuck with us, was from a member who has been at other CrossFit affiliates previously sent a message to let us know that in his 16 years of being a member of various affiliates, that we truly have such a special community at CrossFit Indestri, and that he hasn’t experienced our kind of community since his first affiliate 16 years ago. That the kind of community we have created and nurtured at CrossFit Indestri is actually rarer that we might know. We can’t tell you how much that meant to us, because we truly love this community, and protecting and nurturing the ethos of CrossFit has always been important to us.

Between the two of us, we’ve been part of organizing the CrossFit Open and events like here at CFI for 14 years. Even before we owned the gym, we were part of the team helping to run these events and other competitions, big and small. Yes, it can be stressful at times. But we truly love it. We love the moments when we get to watch you do something you didn’t think was possible. We love seeing athletes step onto the floor in front of their friends and family and have a moment to shine.

We watch fitness all day long. Every day. It’s our profession. But outside of events like the CrossFit Open, you rarely get the chance to watch each other throw down, or have your family and friends in to see what you can do, etc. We love that the CrossFit Open gives you that opportunity.

Greg Glassman famously said;
“The magic is in the movement. The art is in the programming. The science is in the explanation. And the fun is in the community.”

After three weeks of the CrossFit Open inside the walls of CrossFit Indestri, that couldn’t feel more true.

We saw the magic in the movement as athletes stepped onto the floor and challenged themselves. We experienced the art of the programming as each workout tested you. We heard the science in the briefings, the coaching, and the judging standards that keep our movements honest. But most of all, we felt the fun in the community.

And that will never not be true.

So thank you for another incredible three weeks of the CrossFit Open.
Be proud of what you did, we are.
