Why your Engagement on social media matters

A long time ago, we made a decision to not spend money on traditional advertising, and instead, we chose to put that money back into what matters most, our facility, equipment, and keeping membership costs as low as we can, so more people in our community can access the best fitness experience possible.

We use social media to share who we are and what we do. It’s how we show people what CrossFit actually looks like, what our training does, and why this community is so special.

We’re also lucky to have Emma, my oldest daughter, capturing it all through photos and videos that truly reflect our incredible community.

But here’s the thing, last week, we noticed the algorithm on instagram seemed off. Way fewer people were seeing our posts. We asked for your help through stories, and you showed up. It helped, but then it happened again Tuesday.

So we’re asking for your help again. When you see our posts, please take a second to like, comment, share, or save. It may seem small, but it makes a big impact. Having you engage tells Instagram, “Hey, this pages content matters,” and helps more people see what we do.

Here’s something to think about, how many of us scroll instagram and like posts from celebrities, influencers, or big brands, from people we’ve never met? But then we scroll right past the posts from small businesses, and actual people we do know. This isn’t a guilt trip, just a reminder that your support online has real value for the people building something in your own community, not just us, but other small businesses as well.

Honestly, writing this post feels a little awkward. It’s basically me saying, “Please like our stuff.” But there’s a reason, not everyone knows how social media works, and the truth is, every engagement helps, likes, comments, shares, saves.

Every time you engage with a post, you’re helping someone new discover CrossFit Indestri, and maybe, just maybe, it’s the post that gives them the push to finally walk through the door and change their life.
