Integrity

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. For us inside this facility that means squatting to full depth, locking out your reps, doing all the reps, and holding yourself to the same standard on rep one as you do on rep thirty.

Integrity is the foundation of everything that CrossFit is built on. And not just physically, but mentally as well. It is core in the ethos of CrossFit, and what we’ve built at CrossFit Indestri.

It’s not about perfection. No one moves perfectly all the time, but it is about effort, and awareness, and about giving enough of a damn to do things right, and not worry about the clock, or the leaderboard.

We don’t look for shortcuts here. Cutting corners or range of motion, or the number of reps you do, just to inflate your score might get you a faster time or a higher number of rounds on the whiteboard, but it doesn’t make you any fitter. It doesn’t make you stronger, and it definitely doesn’t build character.

We coach mechanics first. We drill movement patterns over and over, not because it’s flashy, but because it matters. Because it makes you more successful, and moving well leads to moving consistently well, which leads to the ability to safely and effectively add intensity. That’s where the real progress happens. Not in skipping steps, and not in chasing the leaderboard. But in showing up, moving with purpose, and doing the work to the standard.

Holding yourself to a high standard doesn’t just help you either, it sets the tone for the people around you. You lead by example, you raise the bar for the entire community.

So the next time you're mid WOD and tempted to skip a rep or count a pull up where your chin didn’t go over the bar, or a wall ball where the ball missed the target, don’t.
Hold the standard, and redo the rep, even when you’re tired and it’s hard.

Because reps done right are the ones that make you better.
They build more than just strength. Those reps, the ones that would be easier to short cut, they build trust, and build character.
And that’s the kind of fitness we’re here for.

The kind that will last, and the kind that means something.
