Still Building a Stronger Collingwood, One WOD at a Time
Yesterday we talked about the date on the calendar. Today we want to talk about the heartbeat behind it.
Back in 2010 the plan was simple: build a stronger Collingwood, one WOD at a time. Fifteen years later the hasn’t changed. Every class, every cue, every reminder of the standards, or encouraging shout across the floor still points in the same direction, to help people live better lives through CrossFit and community.

We’ve believe that great gyms are led, not marketed. and that means:
Coaching mechanics before intensity
Scaling with care instead of ego
Choosing integrity over shortcuts
Showing up for the right people, our people, every single day
We’ve had some big/standout moments along the way, like:
Scott bringing in the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs for training camps and showing that functional fitness belongs in every locker room.
Welcoming CrossFit Games athletes like Sam Briggs, Lucas Parker, Michele Letendre, Becca Voigt Miller, Jenny LaBaw, Katie Hogan, Nicole Holcomb, Jack Farlow, and Emma Lawson to lift, teach, train, and laugh with our crew.
Hosting world class seminars like Carl Paoli’s Freestyle Connection, Power Monkey, CrossFit Strongman, and CrossFit Adaptive, so that our coaches and members could keep their toolkits sharp.
Turning the gym into event central: from Festivus throwdowns, to community event workouts, and the WheelWOD Games with the UG Series.
For every headline moment there are hundreds you might have missed, or that happened a little quieter.
Athletes who lost 100 pounds in a year.
Kids who started in CrossFit Kids, survived teenage growth spurts, and went on to join our adult classes.
Athletes regain mobility, gain strength, build confidence.
All of that has been great, and exciting, and special. But nothing tops the trust you give us:
Showing up before sunrise because you know we care.
Letting us nudge you to add five pounds or pull the weight back when form slips.
Handing us your goals and believing we’ll help you reach them.
Some outside CrossFit think this is too intense, or even crazy. We get it., but fifteen years of open doors and and busy facility tells the real story. What we do works, and that it prepares you for more than fitness. It prepares you for life.
CrossFit is hard, yes. But hard isn’t a punishment, it’s a proving ground, and for fifteen straight years we’ve been paving that ground, rep by rep, WOD by WOD, and helping to show you just what you’re capable of doing.
We’re proud, stubbornly, unapologetically proud, of what we’ve built and who we’ve built it with. We thank you for trusting us to keep doing the right things, for the right reasons, for the right people.
Here’s to the next workout, the next breakthrough, and the next fifteen years of proving what hard work can do.
