Thank You

To every athlete who registered for the CrossFit Open on day one of registration Wednesday, thank you.

We really want to take a moment to thank all of you who have already registered. In 2025 on day one of registration we had 9 athletes register, this year on day one of registration we had 21 of you register. That’s incredible, and makes us incredibly proud. At the moment we sit with the 3rd highest affiliate registration in all of Canada.

We have a group of athletes about to take on the Open for the very first time, all the way up to athletes heading into their 14th year of the Open.

It might seem like a small action.
A click.
A sign up.
A box checked.

But to us, it really is special.

Yesterday, as we watched the first 21 registrations come in, the amount of pride we felt for this CrossFit Indestri community, the one we pour our heart and soul into, was huge. So Thank You. It’s an incredible feeling to know that the community we love is just as excited as we are.

We put a tremendous amount of time, energy, and care into this facility. We’re not hands off business owners, we’re hands elbows deep in the mud business owners. Every detail matters to us. The programming, the coaching, the events, the chalk walls, the equipment, the culture. And it’s no secret that we love CrossFit, both the training methodology and the sport. There’s a difference between the two, and we appreciate them both for different reasons.

It’s also no secret that we love events. Many of our Saturday workouts are intentionally structured like mini events. We were part of Canada’s largest functional fitness event, the UG Series, for over eight years, and we’ve run countless in house competitions over the years. But still, the CrossFit Open holds a special place for us.

It’s one of our favourite times of the year.

The Open is about bringing the CrossFit Indestri community together. It’s about showing up for each other. Encouraging each other, and cheering for each others effort.

Yes, it’s absolutely fun to watch our RX athletes throw down. But the absolute best part of the Open has nothing to do with the top of the leaderboard.

It’s the breakthrough moments.

Someone getting their first pull up. Someone putting a 75/55 lb snatch over their head for the first time. Someone settling into a workout, nerves shaking, and finishing their very first Open workout with the full support of the facility behind them.

There’s a reason one of the original sayings in CrossFit is: “The person finishing last gets the loudest cheers.”

For elite, CrossFit Games level athletes, the Open is the road to the start of their season. For 99% of us, it’s three really fun weeks with our CrossFit Indestri community. It’s a chance to invite family or friends in to watch you throw down. It’s Saturday mornings spent at CFI together with athletes from all different class times, it’s athletes helping support as judges. It’s very loud cheers, shared nerves, and an excitement and magic that can only be felt during the open.

Yes, we’ll challenge you to do your best. Yes, we’ll encourage you to push, and movement standards are the holy grail of every single rep given. But it’s really not about the leaderboard for us. It’s about the experience. The community. The themes. Dressing up. Judging. Cheering. Supporting every athlete who decides to step outside their comfort zone.

You can absolutely take each workout seriously, and strive to do your best, and push your hardest. But don’t get so in your head that you miss the magic. Don’t lose sight of why this is special. And please, don’t be above dressing up in the themes each week.

Once again, to everyone who registered on day one, thank you. We can’t wait to spend the 2026 CrossFit Open with you. Three weeks cheering loudly, supporting fully, and celebrating every win, big and small, together.
