12 Days of Christmas WOD
From all of us at CrossFit Indestri, we want to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas. We hope this season is filled with good food, time together, laughter, and a little bit of rest after a great year of training.
And of course, we’ll be celebrating Christmas Eve and the holidays the CrossFit Indestri way, with one of our favourite traditions.
If you’ve never done the 12 Days of Christmas WOD before, it’s exactly like the song.
Each “day” adds a new movement, and every round you repeat all the movements from the days before. It starts to set in around day 6, and by the later rounds it turns into what we would lovingly call organized CrossFit chaos.
Here’s how it breaks down:
12 Days of Christmas WOD
Day 1 - 1 Handstand Push Up
Day 2 - 2 Jerks (95/65), 1 Handstand Push Up
Day 3 - 3 Hang Power Cleans (95/65), 2 Jerks (95/65), 1 Handstand Push Up.
etc…. Each round starts with the new day movement, and works back to the HSPU, just like the song.
Day 1, then,
Day 2 + Day 1, then,
Day 3 + Day 2 + Day 1, then,
Day 4 + Day 3 + Day 2 + Day 1, and so on.
To keep things flowing smoothly, equipment will be set up in designated areas throughout the gym. This makes it easier for athletes to follow the order of movements and helps coaches keep eyes on everyone as the workout unfolds.
It’s a bit of a kitchen sink workout, a little of everything, a lot of fun, and plenty of festive energy. Expect laughs, a few groans, and a whole lot of cheering as the class works through it together.
A reminder about our schedule. After the 12:00pm class, we’ll be closing the gym for the rest of the day so our coaches can head off to celebrate Christmas with their families.
This workout is meant to be challenging, lighthearted, and full of holiday spirit. Modify where needed, support the people around you, and lean into the fun of doing something hard work together.
We’re grateful for each and every one of you, and we can’t think of a better way to kick off Christmas than sweating it out as a community.
