11 years in the making
Some things don’t happen quickly.
Some things take time, patience, and a willingness to keep showing up, even when it feels like nothing is coming back your way.
For the past 11 years, since becoming one of the owners of CrossFit Indestri, I’ve applied to CrossFit HQ to host a Level 1 or Level 2 seminar in our facility.
Every year.
In the early years, I’d send in the application and hear nothing. No reply. No follow up. Just silence.
More recently, it turned into an automated response. “Thank you for applying. If we’re interested, we’ll reach out.” And that was it.
Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to host other incredible seminars. CrossFit Strongman. Adaptive CrossFit. We’ve brought in people like Lucas Parker, Carl Paoli, Power Monkey, Michaela Breeze. We’ hosted Women Strong twice. We’ve created opportunities to learn, to grow, and to bring more to our community.
In a couple of weeks, we’ll be hosting the CrossFit Nutrition for the Everyday Athlete course. (still a little time to register)
We didn’t stop, and I didn’t stop applying. Again in 2025, and then again in February of this year.
And then last week, an email. From CrossFit HQ. Asking if we would host a seminar on the weekend of July 4th.
After 11 years, that email hits a little different.
So I’m beyond proud to say that on Sunday, July 5th, we will be hosting a CrossFit Level 2 Certificate Hybrid Course right here at CrossFit Indestri.
It’s something I set as a goal 11 years ago when I bought into this affiliate. To host a Level seminar. To host more seminars in general. It may have taken a little longer than I had hoped. And that’s really the point this blog.
Because 11 years is a long time to keep trying at something with no guarantee it’s going to happen. A lot of people would have stopped. Moved on. Decided there wasn’t a point anymore.
But some goals aren’t meant to be rushed. They’re built over time. Through consistency. Through showing up again and again, even when it feels like it’s going nowhere. (or continuing to apply in this case.)
Until one day, it isn’t.
So if you’ve got something you’re working toward, and it’s taking longer than you thought it would, keep going.
Keep putting your name in.
Keep showing up.
Keep doing the work.
Because sometimes it takes 11 years.
And when it finally comes together, it’s worth every bit of the wait.
