Truth and Reconciliation WOD

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and as a community we’ll honour it together with the Truth and Reconciliation WOD: 215 Innocent Children.

This workout is a tribute WOD, and like all tribute and Hero WODs, it’s intentionally tough. The difficulty is part of the meaning. We’re not just moving through a workout, we’re paying tribute and creating space to reflect.

Some things to note:

  • Time Cap: 40 minutes, one of the longer WODs we do in class.

  • Buy In: Don’t coast through the buy in. Use it to get warm, ready, and mentally locked in for the work ahead.

  • Scaling: Scale appropriately, not to make the workout easier, but to make it possible to keep moving with short breaks. This workout should challenge you, but not stop you.

We also encourage everyone to wear orange gear in honour of the day.

This is the same WOD we did on this day last year. It’s a lot of work, but it is doable, and if you don’t finish, that’s okay too, get as far as you can in the 40 mins given. Like all tribute WODs, this one is about more than your time. It’s about remembering and honouring. It’s about digging in when it gets hard and carrying the meaning with you as you work.
