Leave the coaching to our coaches

Please leave the coaching to our coaches.

We know that many of you may have years of CrossFit experience. Some of you have been training for a long time, have a good understanding of movements, and might even be very proficient at performing them yourselves.

We also know that when you see a fellow athlete struggling with a movement, your first instinct might be to jump in and offer some advice. And we genuinely appreciate that it comes from a place of wanting to help.

But here's the thing.

Being able to perform a movement and being responsible for coaching someone through that movement are two very different things.

At CrossFit Indestri, coaching is the responsibility of the coaches we employ within our facility. Period.

And we want to put something into perspective for a moment.

Our coaching team at CrossFit Indestri has combined, OVER 63 YEARS of experience coaching CrossFit.

Not personal training experience. Not general fitness experience.
Actual, hands on, coaching the CrossFit training methodology, experience.

Let that sink in for a moment.

You would be hard pressed to find a more experienced team of CrossFit coaches around. And that's not a brag. It's a fact. One we’re very proud of.

We are incredibly proud of the knowledge, education, experience and care, our coaching staff brings to the floor every single class. They understand movement mechanics, progressions, scaling, individual abilities, and how to communicate cues effectively. They also understand that what works for one athlete might not be the right approach for another.

When our coaches are on the floor, they're doing much more than simply watching people work out. They're observing, assessing, correcting, and making decisions about how best to help each athlete move safely and effectively.

And sometimes, there's a reason they're choosing to give a particular cue, or choosing not to give one at all.

When another athlete steps in with their own coaching advice, even with the very best intentions, it can create confusion for the person receiving it. It can also undermine the coach who is responsible for leading that class.

And respectfully, it's disrespectful to our coaches.

We invest a great deal in the quality of coaching at CrossFit Indestri. It's something we take tremendous pride in, and it's one of the reasons we operate as a 100% coach led facility.

We absolutely want you supporting one another.
In fact, it's one of the things that makes the CrossFit community so special.

Cheer someone on. Encourage them through a tough workout. Celebrate their progress. Give them a high five. Be the person who helps them believe they can finish when they're questioning themselves.

But when it comes to coaching tips, movement corrections, technical advice, and cues, please leave those to our CrossFit Indestri coaches.

If you notice something that concerns you, or you think someone might need assistance, bring it to the attention of the coach on the floor and allow them to address it. If someone asks you for coaching advice, direct them to the coach on the floor.

This isn't a new policy. It's something we've communicated for years, and something we'll continue to reinforce because we believe strongly in the importance of quality coaching and respecting the people we've entrusted to provide it.

We love that our members care about one another.
We love that you want to help each other improve.

But there's a difference between being a supportive fellow athlete and stepping into the role of a coach.

Be an incredible training partner.
Be someone's biggest cheerleader.
But please, leave the coaching to our coaches.

Thank you for respecting our coaching staff, their knowledge, their experience, and the role they play in making CrossFit Indestri the facility it is.

*Please remember to sign in to classes before attending.
