Bring a Friend to CrossFit: Breaking the Barriers Together
Last week, we put out a series of poll questions on our Instagram story asking about your fitness habits, and the fitness of the people around you. Your co-workers, your family, your social circle.
The response was incredible. We had a huge number of you, CFI members and non-members alike, take the time to answer, and we want to start by saying thank you. It gave us a clearer picture of what fitness looks like in your wider circle, and the results were somewhat eye opening, but not entirely surprising.
According to the poll, over 85% of you have at least one person in your life who you believe would benefit from CrossFit. That’s not at all surprising to us. But it is a good reminder.
We know CrossFit can change lives. We see it every day, it changed our lives. The people who walk into our gym often don’t just get fitter, they get stronger, more confident, more resilient, and more capable in and outside the gym. But we also know that for many, getting started with us is the hardest part.
So, we asked you some questions, one being what’s holding them back?
Some common themes came up in the poll:
“Too nervous to start.”
“They feel CrossFit is too competitive.”
“Don’t have the time or make the time.”
“It looks too hard for them.”
We get it. But most of the time these feelings are based on myths or assumptions, and once someone walks through our front door, they quickly realize the truth;
CrossFit Indestri isn’t about competition, it’s about coaching. It’s about training people to move well. It's about doing the work, alongside people who want to see you successful.
So we want to do something about it.
For the first time ever, we’re thinking about running a “Bring a Friend to CrossFit” Saturday class.
No sales pitch.
No pressure.
Just a chance to come, move, and see what it’s all about with you, their friend.
We’ll make the workout accessible, we’ll make it fun, and most importantly, we’ll make sure they feel welcome, supported, and safe.
This isn’t about recruiting.
It’s about removing the fear.
Because once someone gets past the idea that CrossFit is too scary or too intense, they usually realize that it’s actually incredible, and more often then not they ask themselves why it took them so long to get started.
What you can do.
If there’s someone in your life who’s been curious about what you do at the gym, but is hesitant to try it, this is their moment.
You can help them:
Get through the door.
Know what to expect.
Feel like they belong.
And we’ll do the rest.
We’ll be releasing the details soon, but start thinking about who you’d want to bring with you. That friend who keeps saying they want to get back into fitness, or that family member who’s, just not a gym person, or maybe that co-worker who needs a little push.
Let’s show them what this place is really about.
